The Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) has seen huge profits in organizing the Nidhaus Trophy on home ground in March. The tri-nation tournament with Bangladesh and India has also brought great amount of money with great spectacularity.
Anyone who will hear the Sri Lankan cricket’s earnings in this one tournament will be eyeing. They expected the 195 million rupees to be received from this tournament. In reality, the profit is 480 percent more. SLC said they have earned 940 million rupees from this tournament.
SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala told the news conference on Friday. “It was the most successful tournament ever held in Sri Lanka,” he said.
The prospect was that the Nidhas trophy would earn 650 million rupees. That was 1.36 billion rupees. Of this, the international media rights and sponsors came from 1.6 billion rupees. The remaining money comes from the sale of tickets.
