Swamy registered 5 lakh Rohingya in biometric system

In the face of ethnic persecution, 5,27,797 people have been registered in the biometric (fingerprint) system until Tuesday between 6,29,000 Rohingyas coming from Myanmar to Bangladesh. It has been stated in a government statement on Tuesday night.

It is said that registration of Myanmar citizens in the 12 shelters in Ukhia and Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar has been going on with registration in the biometric system through 7 camps in government management. The passport department is implementing registration work.

The Department of Social Welfare has identified 36,373 orphan children till Tuesday, the release said.

In the 7 centers, 15 thousand 739 people have been registered in the biometric system. In the meantime, 2,985 people in Kutupalong-1 camp, 2,639 people in Kutupalong-II camp, 938 from Noapara camp, 2,310 in Thangkhali-1 camp, 2 thousand 371 people in the Lalmonirhat-2 camp, two thousand in Balkhali camp 929 people, 1,774 people have been registered in Shamlapur camp.

Myanmar’s hundreds of Rohingyas who fled to ethnic persecution have been living in Bangladesh for a long time. Recently, on August 25, the army of the country’s military launched an operation against the Rohingya people in Rakhine, focusing on police and army check posts in Myanmar border. Since then Rohingya have been fleeing to save lives in Bangladesh.

According to Cox’s Bazar Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Commission report, 6 million 29 thousand people of Myanmar who are infiltrating into Bangladesh till August 25, till Tuesday. The numbers are increasing due to continued infiltration.
