Rohingyas admitted to CMCH.

Eight more Rohingya, including two children with bullet and burn injuries, were admitted to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital on Friday as they managed to cross the border into Bangladesh fleeing the wave of violence unleashed by the Myanmarese army.

They have been identified as Md. Anis, 25, son of Mohammad Hossain; Rohmatullah, 8, son of Hafizullah; Ershad, 12, son of Md Sharif; Jahangir Alam, 22, son of Nurul Islam; Nabab Sharif, 18, son of Harun-or-Rashid; Amzad Hossain, 26, son of Nur Mohammad; Liakat Hosen, 60, son of Imam Sharif; and Md Hakimullah, 28, son of Abdul Haq, all of them are residents of Maungdaw area in Rakhine State of Myanmar.

Sub-inspector Jahir Uddin, in-charge of CMCH police outpost, confirmed their entry and later admission to e. Nabab Sharif and some others received burnt injuries of a bomb blast.

The injured were undergoing treatment at wards no 26 and 27 and burnt unit of CMCH, Jahir Uddin added.

Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have sent back at least 4538 Rohingyas as they attempted to enter Bangladesh through different bordering points amid the escalating tension in Rakhine state following an attack by insurgents on 24 police posts and an army base on August 25.

BGB Battalion-2 commanding officer, Lt. Col. Ariful Islam, said at least 4538 Rohingyas were pushed back to Myanmar while they were trying to intrude into Bangladesh through different bordering points from August 25 to August 31.

He said tight patrolling was enforced in the bordering area. Police and coastguards along with BGB were working to prevent the influx of Rohingyas.

This latest round of violence comes after the attacks on Myanmar security forces on August 25.

According to the Associate Press reports, The Myanmar government figures put the death toll since last week at a minimum of 103, including 12 members of security forces, 77 people described as insurgents and 14 civilians.With the eight, the total number of injured Rohingyas at CMCH stands at 14 since the Myanmar security forces launched the crackdown against Rohingyas of northern Rakhine state. Yesterday, a Rohingya youth, Mohammad Musa, 23, succumbed to his bullet injuries at the hospital.
