Chief of Army Western Command, who was in charge of operations in Rakhine State, Major General Maung Soeq has been removed from duty. On Friday, the Myanmar army announced its withdrawal.

The message was quoted by Reuters on Monday as quoting an army media official.
The announcement came shortly after US Secretary of State Rex Tyleran’s visit to Myanmar on Wednesday.

Brigadier General Soi D’Thaying, who was serving as the army’s logistics director for so long, was replaced by Sway. However, there was no reason to withdraw the head of Western Command.

Deputy Director of the Department of Public Relations, Major General Ile Lewin, said he did not know exactly what was removed for him. He has not yet been posted to a new place.

In the Rakhine state, on August 25, when he was in charge, he started killing, rape, repression and assault on Rohingya Muslims. Which still continues.
